I’ve had my bearded dragon for about 2 weeks now, and over the past two days I’ve noticed these strange poops he’s been leaving behind. They’re just a little bit of urate and a yellowish mucus. He poops normal as well once a day or so too. his temps are about 100 on the basking side, 85ish on the cool side with a strip UVB along the whole tank.
He had some problems with constipation when I first got him, but I got a new higher watt bulb on the basking side (previous temps averaged about 92-93, which I think was too cold for his size) I’m guessing he’s around 3 months old, the pet store I got him from couldn’t give me an accurate age.
He’s been eating good, crickets/Phoenix worms/Dubia roaches (I mix it up every feed, he doesn’t get them all at once) every day, along with collards for greens (which I’m still trying to convince him to eat more of, if it doesn’t move he won’t eat it) he hasn’t been lethargic or sickly, and he is in the middle of shed right now. I’m just confused and concerned for my little baby
I’m new to owning reptiles and bearded dragons, as this is my first one, so any help would be greatly appreciated!
If he is eating well and is energetic then he is probably OK. The poops can look odd sometimes but I usually don't worry unless it continues for several weeks. You can upload photos here https://www.beardeddragon.org/useruploads/ and post them to your thread using the XIMG button. I can take a look if you'd like.
Also, if you want to provide more info about your setup, I'll be glad to review it and make sure everything is just right.
