i’ve had a dragon i purchased from a breeder on Morph Market 3 weeks ago. still awaiting vet visit monday. born June 17.

ever since i got him he’s been extremely thin & lethargic. his eyes are always closed & he’s very unresponsive. there’s been multiple times i’ve thought he was gone, but he’s still always breathing just fine.

he refuses to eat, probably bc he won’t open his eyes & is frozen in place all the time.. i know shipment must have been extremely stressful & i really think he’s brumating from stress & temp changes from shipment & im terrified he won’t make it.

he’s in a 40 gallon, 100° hot side, 80° cool side. light & heat 12 hours on 12 off. linear uvb. been trying dubia roaches, crickets, greens, & Repashy. i’ve been force feeding Repashy with a syringe the past few days.

What is the brand of the UVB and where is it? Please get your surface basking temps up to 105-110 taken w/ a digital probe thermometer --- 3 month old dragons DO NOT brumate -- your dragon may be sick and should not of been shipped

Poor little Nugget, he's definitely very sick, not brumating and not normal stress from shipping. I've shipped many and also received dragons and a healthy dragon will be fine unless the temps. were way too hot or way too cold and improperly packed. That includes all of the shipping route. Did you track the package and do you know the temps throughout ? Was the dragon this thin as soon as you unpacked him ? Those questions are very important.
He needs hydration so drip water on his snout [ very slowly ] until he starts drinking as it rolls down his snout.

Zilla & it’s linear so across the top middle. i only think it’s brumarion bc he will nottttt move or open his eyes

No, it's 100% not brumation. Babies do not brumate and this is a sickly dragon. We are very experienced here, any long time dragon owner can tell you this is a sick dragon, not brumating.

Please upgrade to a better UVB bulb the zilla is it a T 8? Look on the bulb itself in the writing at the bottom it will say T8 or T 5 -- you want a Reptisun 10.0 T 5 placed directly over the basking decor piece - the screen on the tank is going to determine placement -- is it a fine mesh like a screen door or a wide hole type?

it was mid 80s during shipment outside & he was in a box, inside styrofoam, in a breathable sack. box & styrofoam had small holes throughout. from new york to illinois overnight.

i’ve been giving short baths every other night for stimulation & have been dropping repashy water on his snout

i’ll attach the photo listed for him on the site, then how he looked upon arrival

Yeah, he was a little thin in the picture but that was probably taken well before he was shipped. Did you contact the seller right away ? If Nugget looked like the 2nd picture when you received him you should have asked for a refund and if the seller ignored you put the pic up on their reviews.

O.K, at least you got your money back. Now to see if we can help save Nugget
so the only thing i need to do differently is increase heat some & better brand uvb? i believe it’ll help some i just wonder if that’s enough considering how sick he is…. there has to be something bigger going on

Some beardies carry a virus called atadenovirus which can be deadly. Check the seller and and see if any of their other babies are sickly. They might be selling other sickly ones.

So no telling what it is really. You can get Nugget tested by an expert here, one of the mods , username Drache613 works with the lab that tests for and trying to find a cure for that virus. It's not even expensive if you want to think about it and let her know.

Hey! I'm planning on ordering a 4x2x2 for my next beardie but I'm worried about lighting. I have a UVA and a UVB but they are small (the UVA just being a bulb and the UVB being 12 ish inches?) My house is drafty so I need a strong light that puts off quite a good amount of heat, any suggestions?
cookie event at my library today, quite fun! Made some bracelets for my comrades too, to give them at church in the morning. Got a busy day tomorrow even though I’m off work… i go back on tuesday so atleast I’ll have 2 days off to rewind….then back to hell lol
The head tilt tho! Aaaahhh
