Bossk has been staying in his hide lately in the afternoon after he wakes up at 8am, Which I have had to take him out to bask but than he goes back to his normal self ? He eats and is alert, his temps stay between 105 or 104 and I have reptisun 10.0 tube light that covers half of the tank, I just don’t know why he stays inside, His not an adult yet and not a full juvenile more like a teenager stage, he hasn’t shed after he shed his face and that’s been a while,is this odd behavior or just normal
It’s on the screen still figuring out how to put it inside the tank without falling, I just don’t know why he likes his hide is it because his bored or that I don’t take him out A lot so his bored ?
Is it a T 8 or T 5? If your using a T 8 it needs to be inside approx 8-10 inches from basking decor-- no cover over bulb--- if it's a T 5 it needs to be 12-15 inside tank or 8-10 inches from decor on top of screen-- you can hang it w/ long plastic zip ties- picture wire hangers- 3 M Velcro fasteners-- shoe laces- potted plant wire- fishing line-

Okay thank you I will try to do it after getting tile still new to owning a bear does doing a lot of research but i don’t know why he stays in his cage until I take him out today he only ate 3 crickets and went to bask is it just a mood swing ? he is 10 months or 11 months old or so
How long is he basking for and is he sitting under his UVB-lamp too? 3 crickets is not enough--- how long have you had him? Are you feeding salads? We need to figure out if it's the lighting before we go to diet

He stays there mostly The whole day if I take him out of his cave and he is usually doesn't go to the cool side of the tank unless his eating and I feed him collard greens or mustard green but doesn’t like it I try tricking him only for him to spit it out or eats it
I had him since December I adopted him from petsmart the vet said his healthy boy but did have coccida parasite and gave me medication I might have to schedule another appointment just to see why his acting this way
So hes about 8 months old ? He needs to be retested for the coccidia -- I would take a stool sample in drop it off and have them test it to make sure its gone --- did you keep the tank clean you haft to sanitize it after every poo so you get rid of it ---

Yea I cleaned it after the last day of his medication but I used diluted bleach but the carpet I think needs to be thrown out that’s where I think he might infected again
Yep the carpet should of been thrown - if he is infected use paper towels for the substrate and see if the vets office has some F10 - it's a vet disinfectant that kills everything-- if not you can check eBay-- F10sc

Just dropped off a fecal test to be done and he let it out diarrhea which I know he has coccida again, just in case if they don’t let me have some f150 that they use what else can I use to kill coccida in the tank ? does white vinegar work ?
I don't know if they sell it in the office but you can go online to eBay and order it or you can use a 1/4 cup bleach to 1 gallon of water - wipe the whole tank down let it sit for 15 minutes then rinse good -- if he's getting any poop on his decor do the same-- use paper towels or thick shop paper towels for substrate that way you are getting all of it out of your tank---

Thank you for helping me out I’m still a new bearded owner and I’ve done tons tons of research but even with tons of information something new comes up witch is stressing me out and with this covid19 is making it harder to cover expensive for vets and everything else he needs
That is why we are here --- we can help you out as much as possible and give pointers to help - its good that we have a lot of experienced people on this forum and Tracie she is the vet moderator and can help / the medical issues -- make sure you get copies of his fecal exam and what ever else is done w/ him if you have taken him in -- that way if you have questions about the care or meds given you can ask Tracie -- make sure you get your tank cleaned out and your gonna haft to keep up on that so you are staying ahead of it
