We just recently got our second bearded dragon, so its time for a new enclosure. I'd like to build a double decker with storage on the bottom. (see image) I'm just curious if anyone has run in to trouble because the lights from the lower section might make it difficult to keep the right temps with the right amount of light on the upper section? When I set my temporary set up (an aquarium) on top of my current viv, I noticed that the temps got right up there and had to back off with the dimmer switch on the spot to keep it from getting to hot. That means less intense light. I'm not sure what effect that may have. Does intensity vary the effect of the UVA?
Nice. That looks like 2' x 4' ' 2' high each? That is very much the idea I'm going for. I thought I might make them just a little bit shorter. I'm 'experimenting' with making the fake rock walls and hides. If I do this the way I am thinking, it should turn out pretty nice, but I bet cop out and and shortcut a little to get it done faster. Thanks for posting the pic!
