ok guys i must confess I did get my viv up but since i went to the show this past weekend i came home with another beirdie and I put them both in the 4x2x2 viv but the only thing is on the viv i am waiting for glass, yes i know you all said not to put two together and at night and most of the time the are seperated but when i put them both in the viv for temp i put Screen on the front of the cage, now my question is this;
I was told that beardies dont really climb but i will tell you that they both, as soon as i stop watching them they will climb the screen, at first i thought it was cause they wanted out but they will go to sleep up here and just climb all over, is this normal beardie behavior or should i be worried, hes a pic of them.
please dont yell at me for having the two again i couldnt resist at the show but you all know i will say you are all right about getting them from the pet store vs breeders, these guys at the show from the few breeders all looked better, and the one breeder that comes to these has breeding them since they came to the US!!
anyhow just wanted to make sure they were acting normal as far as climbing all the time, now when my glass comes in if you all said they like to climb i am putting the screen on the back ground since they keep trying to climb the rocks!!
Not going to yell at you... but :whip: resist the urge!!! I really hope this is a temporary thing, because you seem to know WELL the risks of housing two beardies together. I know they are cute, but if you don't have the rescources to take care of them, you should really think twice, and then a third time. Not sure if you have seen this thread, but in your case, you should really take a good look at it.
Even if you could find a second tank cheap, and simply buy a 20 dollar reptisun 10.0 from pet mountain.com, that is about 60 dollars (less than a dragon) for a safe second set up for your new little one. There are most likely some tanks on craigslist for good prices. a 1 dollar clear bulb could be the basking bulb, and you seem to have plenty of wood in your current viv- you only need 1 for a new tank.
But your new one looks cute. I'll give him that. :roll:
Yes the is temp me and the wife went to the show with the intention to only get stuff these pet srore dont have and well we saw her and the breeder said if we want two he and the others told us about having. Two and well i had my daughter with me and i couldnt resist wife and daughter going pleeeeease pleeeease get her lol but still is climbing like this normal
I know u all have made clear but i just got the second one home just hadnt had the opertunity to get anther viv she is only in this one while i am at home watching she sleeps and is in the 20 gal long but ther isnt munch in it for her. To play on for the most part the two seem like they tolerate eachother but i dont leave them alone domt worry with that said i just had to asl about it lol
That's an adorable pic! Looks like he needs his own theme song! LOL! :lol: Finding things to climb is a great idea but I would reconsider screen. You don't want little toes and nails getting stuck and damaged. Good Luck :wink:
Yeah I don't like the screen. What if your beardie fell from the top and broke somthing? Alot of beardie owners say screen is bad for beardies. Mine loves to climb anything and eerything tho, so its very normal. I'm glad you are separating them.
well the only reason i was thinking put the screen back on the back wall is because they will climb their sticks and well jump at the rocks on the background, but its just a paper background so i was thinking that they would be able to catch themselves instead of falling...lol what do you all suggust then, i dd buy some sort of vines at the show just not sure about how to put them up or where to put them...lol
My background is acutally bark that Sasha often jumps up and climbs on. He also likes to climb on the screen in my window (with extremely close supervision) and the last time I took him outside he was trying to climb up a little cement ledge. I think the whole beardies don't climb thing is a myth Sasha LOVES it.
