Vladimir was having a heavy shed after the stress of the power being out after Sandy. It seems like it has been harder than normal for him to get it all off. There was a piece left hanging on his beard, and I know I shouldn't have, but it had been like a week, and I started thinking it would cut off his circulation or something...and I tried to "help it along". Long story short... I ripped the shed off of a spike before it was ready and the spike underneath is "soft", the tip bends when I touch it. He doesn't act like he is in any pain, I don't see any blood but it does look a little darker than the others. will it harden up over time? should i do anything or leave it alone? I didn't mean to hurt my little guy!!!
Do you have a picture ? I don't think you'll have any problem. I've seen slight trauma to spikes here + there with no lasting harm to the dragon other than a discolored spike. He should be fine. If in doubt , you can put a bit of antibiotic cream on it. And your'e right, it's never good to pull on the skin to hurry a shed, but I think he'll be fine.
