Hi everyone, wondering if anyone knows what's going on with Ryu's scales on his head... It's like they are concaving. They look wierd and wondering if this is serious..
His tempatures are all correct, repitsun uvb tube bulb. On slate tile. This seems more like a diet issue to me. He is a super picky eater... getting him to eat his greens and veggies has always been tough.
I don't see anything out of the ordinary....just a patch that looks to be in shed possibly. Put a few more pics up, but I see nothing on that one...he looks good.
So I know this is a very late reply, but just in case anyone was wondering - my Vet told me that those concaved scales are a symptom of a vitamin/mineral deficiency, due too poor diet.
Sooo I will be making extra special care to make sure he has a complete diet. :? :?
Hi again. Can you post a new pic to show what it looks like now ? I don't see anything wrong with it....all beardies have different shaped heads. And what vit./mineral deficiency did he specifically say is causing it ?
She didnt tell me what vitamins or minerals was causing it, but the scales are funny looking and they have been worrying me for some time AND spreading, Ryu is a very picky eater so I kind of believe her, I will see if I can fix it .
Here's some different angles, its starts with the ones closest to his nose then it works its way to the middle:
It does look odd now in those pics....lumpy looking in the front. I don't think it will affect him too much, and he's still handsome. I know you say he doesn't eat very much veg., but a lot of beardies don't . How is he with the live feeders ?
