My bearded dragon has just been seeming really lazy lately. She still eats everything she can get to, and will bask when I put her in her basking spot, but she could stay in her cave ALL day or under her cool side rock. When I get her out, she will explore a little, but then she will snuggle up in a corner or against me. She also hasn't pooped in a week, but I'm going to the store soon to get her some applesauce. She NEVER poops in baths. Is there a way to train them to do that? Is it possible to be half brumating? Because if it is, then that is probably what she's doing.
Yeah brumation can happen to varying extents based on what I've read. If everything else seems normal, she's probably OK and I'd let her do her thing. I've had the best luck training them to poop via routine. I take them out at around the same time every day and put them under a portable basking light and offer breakfast. I've used baths in the past too but it isn't necessary. After a while they want to leave the room and I keep the door closed until they go, then they can run around. Once they get used to the routine it becomes easier and more regular. They don't always go daily though so it's best to keep the timing reasonable.
How long does it take them to establish the routine btw? I'm trying to accomplish this but there doesn't seem to be any progress after a couple of weeks. haha
