My beardie changes his sleeping position so many times every night. While I’m awake, he has moved about 4-5x in the space of 1 hour maybe. I am worrying in case he isn’t getting a full night sleep. Is this normal? I’ve had him for weeks today, thank you!!
Also, the room is dark and there is no sound to bother him
Any night lights in the tank -- usually when all lights are off they settle down and do not move anymore from where they are when lights go off - so w/ him moving around that tells me hes restless and possibly being bothered by a light

Thanks so much, just there is no lights on at all. So I’ve been so confused. In the first 2-3 weeks he was sleeping fine and once he settled that was it; but now he is moving around a lot.
Strange I dont know why --- where is he sleeping in the morning when you turn lights on and where is he when you shut lights off? Does he have a hide? Temps in the tank at nite what are they? And how are you getting them - if the tank is too warm that would cause a restless sleep
Karrie
He’s always awake in the morning, so I never see where he is. At the moment; he has been sleeping in the same position for the full hour; which hasn’t happened for a few days. So I’m hoping he’s going back to normal. And we have a thermometer in there; and I believe it is the correct temp. We left it on what the reptile shop told us to do. Thanks for the help. Just unsure as this is my first beardie
First rule of thumb- don't listen to pet shop people - most times they give bad advice--- stick ons are good for ambient temps but we recommend digital probe thermometers especially for basking temps- so w/ that being said what are your temps the tank? Basking warm side and cool side- temps at nite should be 70's - not below 65- basking temps 95-110- no coil UVB's- they are inadequate

Sorry, we got him from a reptile specialist; not a normal pet shop!
Last night he slept well; for first time in a while but again tonight; he isn’t asleep 2 hours after all lights went out. I have a stick on thermometer which we stick in the middle of the tank so we have an idea of the temp on both sides ( I can’t see it right now as the lights are out in his viv )
Where do I find a thermometer to measure it better? Thanks for the help
Thank you, I will look into getting one in the morning. I am just worrying as he is still awake at midnight, and his lights have been out for ages. He no longer has bad stress marks, hs been eating fine and also going to the toilet at least once a day. Just won’t sleep this week.
What is he doing during the day? I just cant imagine him staying awake all night - is there other animals in the house that are maybe bothering him at nite? The only thing I can think of is colored bulbs but you said there arent any - temps in the tank too hot ---
Karrie
I’m a super rough sleeper and find that if I don’t get enough exercise during the day, I can’t settle down at night and will constantly change my position to accommodate for the lactic acidic buildup in my legs and arms. You should make him run around during the day by holding his hind end off the ground and then gently nudging him forward until he decides “ok” and jumps off and runs on his own.
