Lately i noticed my dragons up way early where there lights wont go on for another five hours. When they sleep am thinking about a seven hour day. Is that ok or should they be sleeping more or longer. Would sun shine though the window be wakeing them up. They should be growing and only grow while they sleep i would say. But am just not sure if this is ok or not.
Absolutely not, it should be 10-14 hours pending certain conditions just like what was said in the other thread you were just posting in. If sunlights an issue (which it could very well be), you should make the bed time earlier and lights on earlier or move him to a darker area if possible so his sleep is uninterrupted.
They should be sleeping longer. I generally give them 10 hrs during the summer and 12 hrs during the winter. Sun coming in the windows will wake them, close your curtains before bed.
Curious as to what kind of hours you are keeping? I'm never awake 5 hours before light on. Lights on at 7 AM, off at 9 PM.
Well if i change the timer is there a stress factor behind chanceing the hours. I do 11am on and off at 11pm. I think i will do that also 7 on and off at 9. I use blinds so its hard to stop sun from coming sun. I will find a darker location for them not near a window. I thought maybe they would enjoy a little sunlight in the morning. But thanks for awesering my question cause i figured this wasn't right so now i'll figure this out. I just hope my dogs are not waking my dragons up and like to smell the tanks and there nails are loud so even for me is a good wake up call. Thanks again gail
There shouldnt be any stress involved in changing the times but if you plan on doing it i would do it slowly. Maybe in 30 minute increments so he can get used to it easier rather than abruptly changing it.
