Are beardies supposed to sleep at some point throughout the day? I ask because I've read many posts about beardies sleeping during the day, but I've yet to see Dewey asleep when the lights are on. Shortly before the lights go out at night he starts to get the heavy eyes and starts to doze off though. Also, if I have my lights on a timer to go out at 9pm, but he starts to doze off on his own around 8:30pm, should I adjust lights accordingly or just let it be?
Beardies are so much like humans its crazy both diurnal and omnivores. They know when bed time is coming and will nap from time to time if tired during the day just like an ole humie. If your dragon is falling asleep before the lights go out you could save a little electricity by ajusting the timer a half hour every day over a year would save some energy, just make sure your dragon is getting enough day light hours. My baby Phoenix girl is only 5 months so she rarely naps during the day. How many hours do your lights run?
