Hi! My 8 week old, Alejandro has just decided to give up on crickets. I feel like he's really young to not like them anymore, and i'm not sure why he's over them. He LOVES worms- meal, wax or pheonix. He hasnt really taken an interest in veggies but likes those little "bites" cubes. So far he has eaten and grown well (hes 8 inches now and has grown about 3 inches in the month that ive had him) but this past week he makes no effort to catch the crickets.
Is it OK to use pheonix as a staple? Silk worms maybe? Roaches arent an option incase they get out, and i think his mouth is too small for them anyways. Id honestly rather not deal w/ live crickets anymore, so its fine if he would rather not deal with them either... but I was just wondering if it's normal that he's over them at only 2 months old. Thanks in advance for any feedback / ideas!!
phoenix and silks are good staples. Hornworms are good. Wax worms are good treats. But mealworms are a NO NO. The hard shell on them
is really bad as it is too hard to digest and can lead to impaction especially in one that young.
yeah mealworms real bad, nearly lost my little one coz of those things.....only fed them to him because of the advice of the pet shop....yet to try any other worms, he is only young, how old before i try him on pheonix worms, silk worms, wax worms and horn worms? since i have started finding spiders in my crickets i am not so keen on them now  need to find another staple food for my skink now
