Hi everyone. My 4 month old bearded dragon is going through a full body shed. I just now noticed that he has become very lethargic. He barely opens his eyes, does not want to move or eat and stiffens up when I hold him. I just gave him a warm soak and he perked up and swam a little. Now, he is back in his enclosure and he is lethargic again. I am using a Reptilesun 10.0 and his basking spot is 105. I give him bee pollen powder, probiotic powder and multi vitamins.
I have another bearded dragon and she is never this lethargic when she sheds.
Is this lethargic behavior normal when bearded dragons shed
Any advice is greatly appreciated
Yes, they often become lethargic & lazy when shedding because it gets so annoying for
them. Is he going to shed on his head area too?
Has he eaten anything at all?
Yes, his head is also shedding and no he has not eaten anything all day. He is still very groggy and sleepy. Even though he is under his basking spot, He is cold to the touch when I pick him up. His skin looks dried out and lifeless and over the last 24 hous, he lost weight.
That is terrible-- I am so sorry to hear of this--- there must of been something else going on w/ him! Hiccup is shedding now too but hes pretty active- hes got some shedding going on w/ his tail and a little around his mouth- so tonite I put him under the sprayer in the kitchen sink to loosen the skin- it is so frustrating when beardies pass away and you dont know what is going on w/ them exactly-- again I am sorry to hear --
