Hello guys, had a question about shedding. My beardie is about two months old and he began to shed (head and neck) about 3 wks ago. My question is is it normal for him to shed one area at a time? I see his body is getting darker while his head and neck are bright greenish. Is this normal? Do they shed only parts at a time? Thanks!
They will usually shed in stages my little guy Thor will shed his tail, then his legs feet and snout, last he will shed his head and torso. This is typical to shed like this. When they get to be around 1 year + their shedding gets more erratic, they may only shed part of their torso then their tail, then their feet, maybe their legs after that.
During shed you can give baths slightly more frequently to help this process along. During times of no shed it is best to bathe 1-2 times a week during shed I would bathe 2-4 times a week. I would encourage bathing if the shed seems to be procrastinating.
