Hey guys, I know its normal for them to shed in patches. But I wondered if any of you guys notice that when they dont shed evenly, that their coloring is not even.
If you look on the right side of Saphira's head, you see a lighter patch of skin. This patch shed about two weeks ago. The left side of her head is much darker. It just finished shedding today. Her back is the same way. she shed 1/2 of it last month, and it is lighter than that the other 1/2 that shed earlier this month.....
The difference in color is totally normal. My BD sheds in this order. All legs and tail, shed, then a week later gets ready for the body and head. When they are getting ready to shed they look discolored and depressed in the spot they will shed, and are usually a little moody. Totally normal
Buddy is currently even more multi-colored. If you look at her back, a quarter of her is lighter and on the other back half there is a patch by her foot that's lighter. She shedded her under belly and parts of her back. It looks like it's just the water making her a different color but that's how she is right now. It shows more in the bath because she brightens up. Her head has shed too, and not her body so there's a distinct line on her neck of new color and old color. It almost looks dirty but I just gotta wait until she sheds again.
That's her before the shed.
Her head. Feet. And those random parts on her back.
