As some of you may know, Tiki was a rescue, and slowly but surely, we've been getting some good, healthy weight on the little girl!
Her legs shed less than a month ago, and now one just shed AGAIN.
How often does the normal dragon shed? She's about a year and four to six months old at the moment. Could she hit a growth spurt? She doesn't seem to be in pain. Nothing is out of the normal. Eating habits, lighting, temps, snuggles - all quite healthy. She gets her last dose of Panacur on Thursday for those blasted pinworms.
I just have NO idea how often a dragon should shed. Thank you in advance!
It's really all dependent on the individual beardie; there is no exact frequency for shedding. All I can tell you is that growing beardies shed A LOT. It can literally seem like your beardie is in a constant state of shedding some part of her body. Since Tiki was a rescue, she may just now be getting up to normal speed with her growth and shedding. As you said, she may be hitting a growth spurt. Unfortunately, there is no way to tell how long this growth spurt will last for. She still has yet to reach the age of sexual maturity, so I wouldn't be surprised if she continues to grow (and shed) steadily for quite some time longer. Anyways, all in all, don't be concerned about Tiki's constant shedding. It's just a normal part of a young beardie's life.
