I recently adopted a bearded dragon, and I was wondering how much to feed it. The care sheets always give plant to animal matter ratio and sometimes an amount for babies, but I haven't been able to find adult portion size. I have only had him for a day now and fed him a salad about the size of the top of his head with about a half dozen crickets on top. He is an adult and about 16 or 17 inches long. He is also a bit chubby, not sure if this is cubbies than average or not. So am I feeding him the right amount? Or how much should I feed him? Thanks from a newbie!
Just make salads available to him, he will eat what he wants throughout the day. Bugs every other day. Just dont feed 2 hours before lights out to give him time to digest it.
Don't be surprised if he doesn't eat much for a few days, it will take some time to adjust to his new surroundings.
