What DIY hides do people have or what materials do you recommend for building a hide for their beardie? Shoe boxes? Small plastic bins? I currently have rock slaps made into a little hut but 1) the space for my dragon boy isn't optimal and 2) I don't want to imagine the rocks slipping while he's trying to get into the hide or climb on top and get injured. I just set these rocks up so I want to switch them out ASAP for something else.
You can certainly use an inverted shoebox with one side cut out as a hide. Depending on how creative you want to get you could cut a custom foam hide and cover it in grout as is described in some of the DIY posts here. You can also use wide branches/sticks to create shade areas or just buy a pre-made hide out of composite or a wooden habba hut.
You can buy quickcrete and cement rocks together so you don't ever have to worry about them falling or sliding I did it with my basking platform and it's awesome and very solid. Just give it 24 hours to cure
