Gizmo has been eating fine, basking, and everything else seems normal. But I have noticed he has been a little less active, and a couple of times he has made this wimpering noise when breathing. It's not popping, and I wouldn't consider it wheezing. It's just like a quiet, high pitched whimper. He's done it 3 times in the last 30 minutes, he just had a bath. I'm worried, but my mom thinks that there is nothing to worry about. Should I take him to a vet?
I um, well.. never heard wimpering from my beardies. I don 't know how to help, but will try to get someone with more knowledge than me to see the post.
Ive heard of things like what you describing. From what Ive heard and read on other forums it sounds like a respiratory infection. You can take them to the vet. OR buy reptaid from chameleonsnorthwest.com for 30 bucks. Guy who helped made it has his email there and he will walk you through everything you need to know about it. I also heard raising the temperature is good too especially at night while they sleep.
Is it still happening? It can be a sign of an RI or pneumonia. That squeak most times is air passing through a fluidic lung although they can make similar noises when in pain or displeased I would still go get him checked out to be safe.
I haven't heard it lately, but I am still going to get him checked out. He didn't seem unhappy when he made the sound last time. I'm sorry my first post was a little unclear, I was in a rush. Thanks for the info.
My bd was making noises like he had something respitory going on. I ordered the repti-cal from amber tech and it worked! I noticed a diff in a couple of days.
