Lets have ahbd take a look --So my bearded dragons is like kinda loosing his scales on his beard, I posted a picture of it here so it's easier to see and tell, I'm not sure if it's scale rot or if it's scuffed, I'm not sure what the remedies are or if this is something vet worthy? I have silver honey, I can definitely take a picture of his enclosure, currently he doesnt have any substrate because he just had an issue with his toe nail, the person i go the tank from said he nwver had issue with injury but i thhink the walls and what not may be too rough because murphy jumps and climbs on everythingI mean i should definitely be worried right?
You want something like Manuka honey - raw honey --- where is the UVB? Are you using a MVB?I have silver honey, I can definitely take a picture of his enclosure, currently he doesnt have any substrate because he just had an issue with his toe nail, the person i go the tank from said he nwver had issue with injury but i thhink the walls and what not may be too rough because murphy jumps and climbs on everything View attachment 98046
The silver honey gel has honey in it, both are fine. You want something like Manuka honey - raw honey --- where is the UVB? Are you using a MVB?
It's not serious now at all, can easily heal but it's important to find the cause so it doesn't continue. I don't care for these rough ridges that people are crazy about making, that may be the cause. It looks nice but isn't really mimicking the open grass/soil/tree + shrubs that dragons live in.I mean i should definitely be worried right?
Actually yes that is possible whenever he goes to sleep he likes to nuzzle his head into tighter areas and lay completely flatThere must be one area that caused it, you can see in the forst pic of Murphy's chin that it's almost evenly scraped on both sides. Is he possibly trying to cram his head in a narrow area ? Is there anything sharp on the inside of the door ?
There's no more sand in there just a clean bottomIf there's a way for you to sand any rough areas down [ then vacuum it carefully ] that might do the trick.
I mean if you sand down the rough edges, like with sand paper. That would create dust but it would smooth out the rough edges. Than you'd vacuum the dust made from you sanding the rough ridges that he's getting scuffed on.There's no more sand in there just a clean bottom
