I figured I would post some pics of Sarth...even though he hasn't been eating very well the past month he still finds every opportunity to be cute! I think I might just keep adding pics to this thread along with my blog, we will see!

The most recent ones are at the top.

I thought this was adorable...he was kind of lounging against the glass, looking at me like "what?!"

Just trying out a close-up of his face...it's hard to get good pics during the weekdays when the sun is going down by the time I get home

Morning stretches, as usual :)

Him looking *really* grumpy sitting in the sun on the back of our recliner. And I put his tail like that, lol

My husband took this

I did not put him like this, lol. I should have entered it in this months photo competition!

Him still being really mad from the vet's visit the night before. He looked so hilarious, all puffed up with the black beard. I started petting him and he deflated while managing to look confused.

Just looking cute. This was right around when he stopped eating about a month ago.

Glad to hear that Scully got through it ok, it's normal for her to lose a lot of weight before and after laying eggs. I sure got that visual of her upside down, 1st time layer, they do funny things. I always hope they just stop after the first clutch, but you'll see in a month if she's going to go through it again.

Glad she drank a lot, it's really hard work pushing out those eggs, even infertiles, same amount of labour. She'll get that weight up again, just make sure she gets lots of calcium to make up for the eggs, they lose so much calcium making the darned things.

Hugs to you Scully, you deserve your hornworms!

Are the eggs furtile?
No - for a couple reasons! Sarth is so crazy aggressive I don't think I'd trust him with either of my girls. Scully is just a year so she's not quite old enough anyway, even though I'm sure they'd produce some pretty babies. I also don't have the time or money to take care of a bunch of little ones!

Ugh, I hope she doesn't have another clutch in the works! Last year Daeds only had the one, hopefully Scully will follow suit...I'll keep the tub of sand around just in case!

Scully got her appetite back pretty much immediately. I gave her some strawberry last night when she was done, since it was late I didn't want to feed her too much. Luckily the reptile store *did* have some hornworms, big ones too! So I got a cup and also a can of those freeze dried silk worm pupae since they seem to like them. I gave Sculls two big horns and a handful of roaches all liberally dusted with calcium, and a couple of the silk worm eggs, and she ate everything right up.

I did notice however she seems to have strained her left leg...it's like a little club foot! It's swollen and stiff and she does not like it being touched. You can see in that last pic of her laying her leg isn't swollen at all so I can only assume she sprained it with all that digging. I gotta order more of the liquid serrapeptase and liquid calcium. At least those silk worm eggs might have some of the serrapeptase in them? She seems fine otherwise so not much to do except keep a close eye on it.

Anyway...tomorrow is another tat session. It could be the last one, unfortunately though the head of my dragon has had a lot of difficulty healing. Parts of it didn't heal over until today and bits of it are still oozy. A couple of times when I got up in the morning parts of it were bloody too because it stuck to my shirt while I was sleeping. So I have a couple actual scabs which is no good, that happened to my ankle tattoo when I tripped and scraped it on something the day I got it and when the scab came off that area was really faded and has to be touched up. Same will probably go for these small parts once they fully heal, blah!

Poor Scully, bad enough going through all that labour, just to bruise a leg. If it's still swollen after a week, I'd take her to the vet to make sure it's just a buise/sprain. That's not normal after labour, but every beardie is different and it's her first time. Did you weigh her to see what she lost afterwards? She'll make it up, I'm sure, the horns sound yummy. I've never heard of the frozen silkworm larvae, don't know how much serrepetase there would be in those, though, so glad you're getting the liquid & the liquid calcium. Both of those will help a lot.

I didn't get around to weighing her after she was done laying. She didn't "feel" any lighter, compared to a few weeks ago when she was still a chub monster!

I took some pics of her legs, you can see how puffy the left one is compared to the right. There's some discoloration to the right of her thumb claw, which is what lead me to think bruise, although I guess it could be sand still stuck there, doesn't look like it to me though.

I'm going to post in the health forums and see what people think. I remember Daeds had swelling like this but it wasn't as painful to her as it is to Scully now. My liquids can't get here soon enough!

I think you're doing the right thing, it could do down on it's own, it's definitely bruised to be so swollen. Still, if it's still swollen in a week I'd get her to a vet, just to be on the safe side. And I hope your liquids get there quickly, too, the Serrepeptase will help a lot. It's helped Lonzo a lot, he's got bad arthritis in his back & it seems to be working on the pain, he's still getting around really well.

Well I got my liquids yesterday, a day earlier than expected :) I gave Scully a dose each of cherry flavored calcium and serrapeptase. Today she got the same along with a few drops of the acidiophiliz (the other two got some drops of that too, they all really like that stuff lol!).

I think the swelling in her foot has gone down a bit since Wednesday. At the very least, I can stroke and squeeze her foot/leg without her jerking it away, so it seems she's not in pain anymore. Still has some problems walking though. I talked with Tracie a bit, and she said if after a few days of the serrapeptase the swelling still hasn't gone down to get her to the vet to make sure we don't have a broken bone.

I weighed Scully a couple days ago and she's already gained a bit over 20g of her weight back  Plenty of sunshine the last few days and I've been able to get all 3 outside for some quality sun time. Supposed to be all rain and storms this weekend though :(

Sarth and Daeds are good as well. Daeds has been gaining weight lately and was 675g last week  I would say she might be getting ready for some eggers except unlike Scully who was doing the flirty push-ups and slow come-hither head bobs at Sarth, she will angrily puff at him and open her mouth if he gets near, so clearly romance is not her problem! She's on a greens/veggie diet with only a few supers every other day.

Sarth on the other hand has continued to eat well, and when I weighed him last weekend he was 484g; that's the most he's *ever* weighed! He has finally filled out a bit and isn't the scrawny little guy with a head too big for his body :) I'm so happy! I'll have to get some pics of him this weekend.

Anyway that's about all I have! A few pics but I still need to upload them, so until next time!

I agree with Tracie, but glad to hear the swelling has gone down. Serrepeptase is awesome stuff, I give it to Lonzo every day and it's keeping him active, so I'm all for it! Hope it really helps with Scully.

So you think Daeds is preggers, too? Only time will tell, it's funny she's not doing the small head bobs at Sarth, though. And I'm glad to hear that Sarth has gained weight, maybe he'll gain even more!

The swelling has definitely gone down since the first couple days she's had it, so I think she'll be OK and we won't need to go to the vet for the time being :) Daedalus also got included in the serrapeptase/calcium dosage today since she was sitting on the couch with Scully while I gave her hers.

I'm not sure if Daeds is preggers or not. She's not showing any of the signs yet of needing to lay. In fact, Sarth happened to be out today and went over to her tank to try and strut his stuff. She spazzed at him with some wicked head bobs, then ran over to try and eat him through the glass. Sarth actually tried to scrunch down and hide from her! Poor guy

The girls seem to be getting along better now that Scully has laid her eggs. They did have a little tiff this morning but that was right after Sarth had been out by their tanks so I think they were still upset. Besides that though Scully hasn't done her usual head bobbing aggression, yay!

Anyway here are a few pics of Scully and Daeds :)

That last pic is adorable!
Yea they can be cute like that sometimes ;)

Sarth is still eating very well, I'm happy to say. Supers are good for putting on weight :) Here's a couple pics!

Look at that little chub belly! Oh yea he is a big mess maker with his greens

Scully is doing better, leg is still a bit swollen but she is walking fine now. Excited to have her out and about for the weekend, hopefully the weather is good. I might even bring both her and Daeds up to the cabin since they seem to be getting along better.

Head of my dragon tat is alllllmost healed. The skin around the center of it was so thick it's been coming off in several layers. From what I can tell after my shower today I think there's just one layer left - I can feel the small rough patch where it is. I'm so happy with the way it came out. Updated pic soon once it's fully healed :)

The tattoo is healed now! I'll post some pics later - going back to the shop on Friday and we'll see if I need any touch ups.

I have an appointment at a new vet scheduled Wednesday afternoon for Scully. Her leg is still a little swollen and she's having trouble walking, despite being given the serrapeptase and calcium every day for the last week and a half :/ She doesn't really use either back leg to move, or does so very minimally, and drags part of her tail on the ground it looks like to support herself when she moves. We're trying a new vet just because since we moved our old vet is now over 40 minutes away, while this one is only 10 minutes. They only have one reptile specialist, so we'll see how he is, because I really liked our old vet, they took such good care of Daeds!

The weather here has been dreary and rainy for the past week. Those few days we had of warmth and sunshine weren't meant to be I guess :/ I brought both girls up to the cabin, they get along well enough as long as they don't have to share the tank for too long! They'll bask together just fine until they reach what I like to call "critical mass" and start going bonkers! Daeds will hop off the platform, which usually upsets Scully and makes her mad. Daeds will try and get out and paces in front of the glass. I put them both out on the bed while I was getting dressed and Scully literally chased Daedalus around the bed! I felt so bad for Daeds! It was too cold to have them both out of the tank at the same time when they usually get along fine. Ugh. I took turns with them being in the tank and all was well, and they were fine in the car.

Anyway, here are some pics!

Daedalus stakes out the pillows on top of the bed. No Scullies allowed up here!

Relative peace while they warm up after the car ride

Hmm where did Daedles go? Evicted by Scully

It looks like maybe we'll have some sunshine on Saturday. Will update tomorrow when we find out news about Sculls.

Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.
