Sand and coconut coir/fibre?

Hi there. I am trying to decide on some new substrate for my three beardies, and have read loads of people recommending the top soil and play sand mix. This sounds great, but fertiliser/manure-free top soil is proving impossible to find in Australia. I have used coconut fibre/coir for a long time, and am wondering if a mixture of play sand and coconut fibre might be a good substitute for the typical sand and soil mix?

Thanks heaps for any advice.

Sand and sphagnum peat moss can be O.K as well with a larger percentage of sand you have to wet the peat moss a bit more to keep the dustiness down. If there are bits of sticks you can pull some of them out.
