So i saw at petsmart a coralreef digital timer, seemed more simple than the dial zoomed one. Im going away for a week for work and have some friends stopping by every other day for food, but not twice a day for lights. Since its summer, i dont want to leave the lights on all day and put a hide in my beardies 5 foot tank, i think it will get too hot.
The coralreef one on amazon had reviews of it melting and starting on fire! Is this common witj timers? Should i get a regular one from walmart for lamps, or is the zoomed one, the green clear one, safe? I need to get it asap, so i camt ship it offline.
I personally use this one and I absolutely love it and haven't had any problems with it, plus I like having the extra plugs, too. 2 for day time (yellow) I have Spike's basking light and UVB plugged in, 2 for night time (grey) I use for her CHE for when it drops in temperature here, and the white for continuous (can plug anything in to them).
The reviews said it was a little confusing for some to setup and figure everything out, but I didn't have a bit of problem, just had to follow the directions.
