Hey just was curious if anyone had used this to seal an enclosure? It’ll be fully cured in two weeks and I won’t move my dragon in this enclosure until at least 3 weeks is this safe to use?

It would be safe to use, but I can promise you it will be an absolute nightmare to seal the inside of your tank with that.

Is this a DIY enclosure you built, or are you just trying to seal a specific item in the tank?

It’s for a enclosure that was pre built 4x2x18 melamine and it’s the same silicone I’ve used to caulk the shower’s recently as we remodeled so I had some practice lol 3 shower’s and shower doors later so actually it was really easy and took me like 25 minutes to do the the whole inside of the enclosure! But it’ll cure for 3 weeks before I put the dragon in there.

Oh, you were just doing the joints? Your original post made it sound like you were sealing the entire enclosure.

Caulking seams and sealing aren't really the same term, which is where the confusion came from lol. Most people talking about sealing an enclosure are talking about sealing the entire surface of the wood, not just the seems. So you can imagine how much of a nightmare spreading silicone-type products flatly and evenly over large surfaces would be a nightmare.

Yeah I’m sorry that was my fault that would be a nightmare lol. I appreciate you letting me know it was safe. It was just the joints to waterproof them.

What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
