Yoshi is 5 months old. Ive had him since he was about 11 weeks old, and in the last few weeks his poop has gotten really runny. his urate is still solid and while, but the rest is really runny and smells a fair bit. he is still eating normally and he is still alert and seems active. His poop before this was much more solid. is it what im feeding him? or is he ill?? he has dusted crickets...was twice a day but just put him down to one meal a day, and lots of fresh greens, kale, carrot and occasionally some grapes.
I'm really worried and I go on holiday on wednesday. I would never forgive myself if something happened while I was away
Make sure your greens are really fresh. After a few days if they aren't stored right or were getting old on the markets shelf they could start going bad. . .smell them, if they smell anything but fresh toss em and buy new. And I would stop with the grapes awhile and see if that helps as well. . .I had to stop the fruit treats because they gave mine the stinky runs. . .I assume excess water and simple sugars basically ferment in a hot gut :silent:
Not sure about carrots, I thought they led to vitamin A toxicity. . .
I've had the exact same problem before with my 1 year old. i took him to the vet and he said that the poop(which i had thought was vomit) was so runny because 1.) I didnt have him under a UVB light(which i now do) and 2.) his protein diet wasnt very stable(he would get crickets one day, then salad the next, then maybe crickets the next 3 days ect.) But now he is on a schedule of crickets every day and he's better than ever with normal poop. Good Luck!
