I'm not sure if I should be concerned or not. I have a 4 month old Beardie and he's had a few runny stools the past several days. He's had a couple solid, also, but more runny. He eats crickets and kale, which is what the breeder fed him and recommended to me. Although I see here that Kale may not be the best choice. But he's always eaten that and not had runny stools until recently. He's still very active, has a great appetite and acts perfectly fine. I spray his salad with water a few times a day and also spray him usually once a day. Is this something I should be concerned about or should I just keep an eye on it for awhile and see if it continues? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!
Hi, sorry to hear that you are worried about your beardie's runny stool. It would be a good idea to start offering him some of the greens/veggies on this list that are in green print: http://www.beautifuldragons.com/Nutrition.html
Would be a good idea to give him baths every other day or so to make sure he is properly hydrated because of the runny stool. Had you been bathing him?
How long have you had your beardie? If longer than 2 wks, would be a good idea to have a fecal checked for parasites so that can be ruled out.
What are the basking & cool side temps and what type of thermometer are you using? Just want to make sure the temps aren't contributing to the loose stool.
