My bearded dragon seems to have injured his arm, at first there were some black spots and his nail was red. Now his nail looks like it's going to fall off and the darkness has spread across his arm. There is also another dark spot just like it on the other arm. Don't have money for a vet so really need your help! Thanks!
Had he recently been bitten by something? Like crickets? It looks like scale rot, possibly from an infection of some sorts.
If you honestly cannot afford to take him to a vet, try soaking him in a diluted iodine (Betadine) solution and apply a triple antibiotic cream (Neosporin) at least twice a day. As for the nail, I'm not sure it could be saved. It does look like it's going to fall off by itself due to the toe itself being black.

Those areas look like an infection or that they are turning necrotic.
Is he housed alone?
Could he have wedged himself in between something & hurt himself trying to get free?
Continue soaking the affected parts in the betadine solution & begin applying an antibiotic ointment such as polysporin or neosporin.
How is his appetite doing?
I don't think the nail can be saved either, but keep trying to salvage the rest of the tissue as best you can.
Let us know how he is doing.
Hi there....that's possibly a slight injury which now is retaining shed more easily. I don't think the arm will be lost, but just keep up the treatment on it. I think it will be O'K. after a few good sheds. Hopefully it's not the start of a fungal issue....some start out with a darker color, but I doubt that it is. Just keep an eye on it, but I think it will be O.K.
