Room light as to not disturb bearded dragon

Hello. My bearded dragon (first reptile) of about 8 weeks old now (roughly) goes to sleep and wakes up perfectly in tune with her lights' timers. >BUT< If i ever turn on my room light she gets a mean stare and i just feel bad, which leads to a few questions.

1) What would be the best lamp light to use in a room at night to do stuff like getting ready for bed. Something dark that will not wake her, but light enough so i don't kill myself in my mess of a room. (Black lights?) (Red Lights?) I know different lights stimulate different reactions in humans but i am not sure what will be the best option for this.

2) Side note question: i Built almost a staircase out of scrap cardboard from a new laptop (long piece at an angle with horizontal holes for climbing) to better help me know when she wants out vs just roaming her home. Is the cardboard safe? its on the cool side so its not going to overheat, but either way i want to be safe and ask.

1) Beardies (unlike most reptiles) can see both black and red lights. It would actually be a good idea to invest in some kind of curtain...

2) I wouldn't recommend the cardboard. It isn't sealed and could hold contaminants. If it were to be pooped on it would become flimsy and gross.

Totally didn't think about that for the cardboard. Maybe i'll just carve her one then. i'd rather make something than buy one of those wall nets.

for the lights thanks again for more info! Unfortunately for me my room is too small for a curtain. the light fixture on the ceiling would get over it. and with the night light on i don't want anything directly on top the home as to avoid fires...

and on a semi related note, (while once shes asleep it won't matter much) if she cannot see the room / hallway outside the room she freaks heh. i can't close my door because from where shes at she can see through my door and down the hallway which is basically my entire house. hmm

We cut blinds to the length of the enclosure and hung them horizontally on the front of their tanks using 3M hooks. It worked great.

^That sounds cool. Yeah I was thinking more along the lines of curtains just for the tank...you could get little kitchen ones and put them on a spring rod, then put those on some Command hooks...that should work really well. You could slide them closed after she falls asleep and open them when her light comes on in the morning...

Hi there a little update we went from a 50 watt heat lamp to a 100 watt basking halogen heat lamp hahaha I saw some comments about it being so close so I made sure to put it a ruler away from her
Has anyone seen this before? Something in the corner of his mouth
