I am disappointed I ordered some slate rocks and they are not what I was expecting at all. So I went to home depot and many rocks (no slate) where huge and some EXTREMELY sharp. I am sorta out of ideas on this but I still wanna push for a more natural anesthetic.
Any ideas would be helpful and my beardies will be grateful even if it's not slate
If your looking for a little DIY, you could cut down some of the bigger rocks from home depot and then sand them down, If not, just go to the local petsmart or pet supplies plus and they should have a variety of stuffs for your lizard!
The larger piece of slate looks good, i agree the others not so much. Depending on where you live you could source some from local creeks and streams. Just be sure to sanitize anything you collect from outside. I'm a very avid rockhound so collecting natural stuff appeals to me a lot lol. Creek rock will usually have the advantage of having the sides rounded and fairly smooth. If you decide to go that route do watch for snakes.

I thought of that but I personally seem to find driftwood not many rocks that are safe in terms of conditions. I was going to take a chance on getting 8-10 pounds of slate to see if I would get better chances off amazon. I just want something they can sharpen their claws and have a natural look over resin rocks
Hmm I didn't think of that I know home depot was no help everything was sharp and some just crumbled when picked up. I'll have to check this out I have a place by me that sells all kinds of gravel sand and gardening supplies. Perhaps they have some I'll look at other places too
I use sandstone. Limestone, basalt, quartzite maybe. Here they have some they call river rock its pretty much anything with rounded egdes lumped into 1 category.
Another place you could find cool stuff is a gems and minerals store. Personally i like the fossil fish slabs. But they can be out right extortionous. But usually those stores have some really cool stuff.

Just wanted to make sure I got something healthy and not hazardous for them. It's easier to have a selection than looking for one type of rock since slate is proving hard to find atm. I also wouldn't mind the fish slabs they look pretty cool honestly unsure if my beardies would peck it though
I got my rock decor from a local store that sells aquatic pets and displays. It’s limestone and looks pretty cool in Draco’s tank, about 5cm tall and he loves laying on it. I don’t know if it’s the same in your area but I find lots of fish tank decor shops will carry these rocks.
