So I have a lot of ideas and various plans, but I am wondering if anyone has built out a viv that is specifically "roach friendly" for their bearded dragons? I like things to be as low maintenance as possible while providing the best possible environment for any animal I raise.
I guess my thinking is designing the enclosure in a way that roaches can be put in, but cannot escape, OR hide under anything. I have even thought about the idea of leaving them in the enclosure overnight. Maybe somehow building it out in a way that they are a sort of "moat" or other area that the beardie can easily get into, but they cannot get out of.
Has anyone designed their vivs like this, with the feeder insects in mind? Would love to hear any / all ideas on this subject!!!
I designed/built an enclosure for a uro I used to have that might be what your looking for. In one corner I recessed a rimmed bowl for her food. The dish was 11/2" deep with a 5" diameter. (you could always go deeper and larger to prevent them from climbing on each other and getting out)
I trimmed out the front under the sliding doors to cover the space and the sides and back were just extended past the floor by 4 inches.
Hope you can picture it because I don't have any pics any more.
