Sadly early yesterday morning one of my rescues Puff suddenly and unexpectedly passed away at an estimated 6 years of age.
Rescued in 2018 I worked with him to rehabilitate him back to as good a condition as was possible and his unique personality really started to shine through.
He was a funny little dragon with a slightly misshapen head and permanent pout, one little foot which only had one toe on it and a short stumpy little body and tail.
You always looked like there was nothing but elevator music inside that head of yours but you always knew how to make us laugh with your antics. You loved watching my fish tank which seemed to calm you down whenever you were mad or upset to the point we started calling those fish your ‘emotional support therapy fish’.
You made big progress in going from a scared, depressed and sick little dragon who wouldn’t touch a vegetable to an outgoing, affectionate little man who absolutely loved his peas and corn and couldn’t get enough of splashing around in a pot plant saucer paddling pool, you even learned how to bathe yourself by splashing water over your back then ‘scrubbing’ yourself with your feet.
Despite your odd looks you knew how to work the camera and gave us some truly beautiful photos over the years we had you in our lives.
You’ll be missed by everyone who knew you and hopefully one day in the future we can all be together again to enjoy all the cuddles and berries we could ever want.
