His basking spot runs about 105° give or take. He doesn’t really “bask”. He stays beside the basking spot where the surface temps are lower. In the picture, where he is laying is a usual spot for him. Up further where I have it circled is the other place he is always laying. It stays cooler than that there. I put the heat emitter on the other side of the uvb than where it is in this picture also to try to get the enclosure warmer. Having the heat emitter beside the basking light was making the basking spot too hot. That's basically what babies do though. They bask and digest all day and go voracious when food is around
He will get a bit more personality as he gets older.
What is his basking surface temperature (Sorry if I missed it) Your warm side shoulder be hotter than 78 unless you are using a tight beamed basking bulb.

My basking light and heat emitter are on a dimmer also. His basking light is constantly dimming. (It probably drives him crazy!) I feel like Goldie Locks with these lights. LOL. The only way for me to get his basking temp right is to keep it exactly where it is, but the enclosure will not get warmer and the light is constantly dimming, sometimes it will even go completely dim like it is off. (I have turned the heat up in my house!

And on top of all that, I feel like that branch has him too close to his UVB, I got people saying he should be 8-10 inches away from the lights, then other people saying all the way up to 15inches is fine. So I am second guessing that also. That branch is too close in my opinion so I put it more at an angle so it isn’t directly under the uvb at the highest point. That has him away from all the lights when he is in his favorite spot I feel like.
I’ll post pictures today once his lights come on and everything gets to its normal temps. Or maybe I should post all of that in a separate post on these forums?
