Kinda an odd question, but I've been wondering about it for a while and I wanna take it off my mind. Nothing's wrong with my beardie. I just wanna know something.
IF a bearded dragon becomes ill with a respiratory infection upper or lower, is there any home remedy that could stop it in its tracks at an early stage? I've seen people treat snakes with Vicks vapor rub (or whatever it's called) and eucalyptus oil, but would that harm a bearded dragon? It seems like something easier to deal with in contrast to tumors or ulcers. :T
I know that if you catch it early enough, they say that sometimes keeping the temps above 80 day and night can help their immune system fight it off.
Not sure of the percentage that this works, but I'd assume it'd have to be really early for it to work.
My vet said that once a respiratory infection can be heard in the lungs, survival chance is about 30% because we're now starting to talk about pneumonia.
My little guy has shown really early signs of URI but the vet still wanted to put him on baytril for a few days just to ensure that it won't progress any further.
