I have a Question.... actually a couple but one is of most importance, I have some Reptocal from Tetrafauna... calcium and vitamin D3.
When I feed my Beardies, Should I only dust 1 roach and let them eat that one then feed more un-dusted or dust 5 or 6 and let them eat those and offer more un-dusted to fill them up, or just dust all they can eat? They are both 6 inches long, 2 enclosures and all that jazz. Im not really sure of the sexes, hoping we have 2 different sexes. Not for breeding, but because I want a female and my wife wants a male. No matter what sex they are we love them anyway.
We got my wifes last saturday and (he?) eats 4-7, 1/2 dubias daily. His salad of veges one day and fruits the next are in his enclosure from morning until before he gets lights out. I put him in a bowl with his roaches and when hes done he trys to hop out for some hand time. Pretty content to hang out on your thumb as you play on the computer lol.
We got mine yesterday, hasnt eaten yet but (she?) still has her salad all day just like FroDoh does. Im hoping that she acclimates to her enclosure soon so she will start eating her dubias too.
Babies should get calcium dusted food 5-6 times a week, and multivitamin dusted food two or three times a week. This means a whole feeding, not just one bug. So say you were giving your baby insects twice a day. You would dust all the insects in the first meal (or the second whichever you choose) and not dust the next meal.
