Hello everyone
I have been trying to find an answer for this question for a very long time and seems like I can´t get any answers. Should I get Reptisun 10.0 T8 or Reptisun 10.0 T5 HO? What are the differences and similarities between them? Pros and cons? Safer of them and worthier? Which one would you recommend me? I do not understand much about this but add as much helpful information as you can. Hope someone can help me on this.
Also, if I decide to use Reptisun 10.0 T5 HO, is it safe to put it on top of the tank screen if I use it? I feel that putting it inside the tank will harm my dragon since I am probably getting a 36x18x18 terrarium.
The 10.0 T8 is a descent bulb but has to be within 8" of your dragon (inside the tank under the screen) to have a somewhat desired effect.
The 10.0 T5 HO is a much stronger uvb source and can be put on top of the screen in some cases. The screen filters out 35% to 50% of uvb rays depending on screen size.
Without the screen, effective range of the 10.0 T5 HO is no closer than 12" and no farther than 18", making it a better source.
Also the T8 has to be replaced every 6 months and the T5 HO once a year, making the t5 more cost effective as well.

Make sure you get the 10.0 bulb for it. The fixture from ZooMed comes with a 5.0 bulb which is only half of what you need. Yes they are somewhat expensive but, well worth the money.
