Today we were at a small local reptile/exotic pet show.
(No, not with Taco. Don't want to expose him to such unusual things, and I even hadn't known whether pets can enter.)
The fun thing was that:
1. The leatherback. For the first time we saw a leatherback bearded dragon in real, and touched it.
2. Snakes and lorikeets. Before going there, I asked my husband whether he'd dare touching a snake this time. He said "maybe, if it's body temperature is down". There was a quite relaxed boa. I saw my husband was quite happy that it was behind glass and not (yet) taken out. They took the boa out, I touched it, he said "rather not". He instead went for the parrots, and they had some lorikeets. He was asked if he wants to have one sit on his hand - yes, of course. This seemed as the easier thing for him, but just seemed, as: The lorikeet went to his shoulder and started preening his hair, then carefully went on to do a full-ear cleaning on him Not just a nibble, that long black tongue went into the ear and checked each part for a minute or so. I guess he hadn't expected such a thing happening (I had however expected it somewhat, from the birds I had when I was younger). I'd have to admit that my husband has rather large ears... That bird had fun!
I bet touching the boa would have been an easier experience then the "bird spa"
