I take Yoshi's viv decorations out when I feed him so the crix can't hide. And he's a slow eater, so I went downstairs while he ate. By the time I got back to check on him, the crix were all gone and he had pooped. So I wiped it up and put the deco back in and he kept blackbearding at me. The poop was normal and when I picked Yoshi up, his blackbeard went away. But I looked at his vent and there was a red spot. Looked like a small bit of smeared blood, almost, though none was present in his stool. I gave him a bath and it wiped away from his scales, but was not enough to stay on the washcloth. Yoshi is acting fine now and had happy colors til I put him back in his viv. Should I be worried? Or maybe just keep an eye on him just in case?
So your Yoshi has you worried, again. Yes, I would just keep an eye on him for further spotting or change in behavior.
Did his stool look any different than normal? He may have just pushed too hard when pooping and caused a little blood.
Have you fed him anything red lately?
Let us know how he is doing.
No, everything is normal. Upon further examination, the spot is actually orange. :dontknow:
I was thinking maybe cricket poop might have gotten on him? IDK. But when I wipe out the floor of his tank, there's orange smears on the wipe. I thought maybe mites, but it wipes up and smears on the washcloth. Honestly not sure. LOL
