Beautiful boy ! I'm sorry to hear that he has all these health problems carry, I wasn't aware. Is he on anything for his liver ?
No not now - it's been cleared up when I found out about his eyes - like 3 years ago- I tried feeding salads on a salad plate and he wouldn't eat thus the force feeding went into effect -

Hello,

Honestly, I really wish that they wouldn't continue to inbreed. It makes a
big difference in the overall health & hardiness of them. Too many of the breeders focus on just color but not caring about the health of them in the long run.

Also the population we have is all we will have. If we weaken it for the sake of a prettier/more profitable animals soon they will all be to sickly to keep. We literally will destroy the hobby we love.

That's why some are starting to breed the barbata line into the mix. At least, that is their theory.

It's getting more common now for some of the bigger breeders to be offering barbata hybrid lineage in their babies they are selling.

Does the barbata have any different care requirements than the vitticeps? Just curious.

I understand the reasoning and don't really disagree but pagona vitticeps are they ones I fell in love with and it saddens me that there is a need to do it at all.
I wish Australia would let the hobby take a couple hundred adults for 1 breeding cycle and return them in time to brumate for the next cycle. If we did that every 10 years or so we could introduce fresh gentics into the captive breed population.

a poem by AHBD (THANK YOU SO MUCH! I LOVE IT!)

Sir Henry the dragon
Looking for his dragon girl
Ventures out in to the wide world
His hopes are up but as you can see
There is no dragon girl for Sir Henry
A light bulb goes off and he takes mom aside
Could you perchance get me a mail order bride ?

Hi there a little update we went from a 50 watt heat lamp to a 100 watt basking halogen heat lamp hahaha I saw some comments about it being so close so I made sure to put it a ruler away from her
