So my 6 and a half year old dragon Alex has been acting a little lethargic lately. He still moves around, just not as much. And he hasn’t been eating his veggies. But he still goes for crickets and worms. And he’s only been pooping every 2 weeks. I got worried the first time this happened back on the 20th of June, and called my vet. They were booked solid so I went to a different one and they couldn’t find anything wrong with him. But they also couldn’t do a fecal cause he hadn’t pooped. And the day he did poop both vets were closed. So I tossed it and tried to trust that things were ok. But lately he pooped again and he’s stopped eating his veggies, (he was eating mostly ok before but in the last week he’s refused veggies altogether.) so I took it to my vet for a fecal. They called me but I was working so I called them back, and the receptionist whom I spoke with told be they found some more pinworms than last time, but presumably not an abnormal amount cause she didn’t sound too worried, and she asked how he was, and I told her he was lethargic and not eating his greens, but that he seemed to do better yesterday when he pooped, basked, and ate some worms (but still no veggies.), but today he went back under his hammock and went back to being a bit lazy. She said she wasn’t too worried and that if he stopped eating bugs to call them back. But then I checked my voicemail and the receptionist who had originally called me said that I should just wait for my apt in august “unless there’s any concerns.” But there are concerns! He’s lethargic and not eating! Why did the other receptionist say not to come in? I can’t call them now because they called me right as they were closing. Should I call back and ask them to clarify? Or should I just do as the first woman said and keep an eye on him? He was doing better yesterday, and I haven’t seen him all day so he might be better now and I just don’t know it. Plus the other vets DID examine him and find nothing wrong just 3 weeks ago. Maybe I’m overreacting? He usually has these lazy spells where he doesn’t eat much in the summer. He digs at the corners, doesn’t bask, and hides, and I read this is just what some bearded dragons do in the summer so I never worried too much. But this year I’m just trying to be cautious since he’s getting older. Any advice would be appreciated.

I should think that after a day or two you may want to visit a vet. Just in case it does get worse ( better to be safe than sorry) Pinworms aren't lethal but should be treated if they don't go away. The vet should give him some sort of deparasiting antibiotic or fenbendazol

Ok thank you. So pinworms aren’t lethal? That’s good to hear. Is there anything I can do to mitigate them at home and help him feel better?

Is it getting hotter in your area and possibly in his tank ? They can get lethargic with high temps. so be sure to check temps. in his tank.

That was my original concern actually! My mom blasts the AC in the summer and so it gets like 60-65 in the house. So I’ve actually had to keep additional heat on him to keep him where he needs to be. But his temps are good now! 95-100 on warm/ basking and 75-80 on cool

Figured I’d update you all quickly. I’m not home yet but my family fed him some superworms. (I know not the healthiest, but I got some to make sure he keeps his weight up while he isn’t eating as much.) and they said he ate them with no issues and seems ok for now. I’ll probably follow the first womans advice and keep an eye on him. Thank you for your helpful advice! I’ll let you all know if anything happens with him.

Gus - he’s a rescue!
How much water should I be giving my bearded dragon? He will only drink from a dropper when I drop on his nose and I’m not sure if I should give it to him until he won’t drink anymore? Or should I stop after he’s had a certain amount?
Just want to check that if my beardie is ok I managed to get a video of him yawning today and screenshot him with his mouth open does he have mouth rot??? He is eating and drinking normally btw, the discoloration on his left of the mouth has been there for a month but the discoloration on his right side is new
