So for the last 4 or 5 days my 5 month old has been having some insanely stinky poops. I know all poops stink but these are room clearing.
He had been eating the same as always, 50 crickets a day plus bsfl, hornworms and butterworms mixed in here and there, yesterday and today didnt eat much but was shedding.
Collard greens, dandelion leaves and kale for greens. I know kale is kinda iffy but its his favourite so i let him have a lil bit. Carrots and fruit now and then. Hes always out and basking.
The reptile vet in my area only works monday, tuesday and wednesday (must be nice) so I'm going to bring him in with fecal on monday but until then any suggestions?
Can you give him a bath daily, so that you can try to get him to go potty in his bath instead of
in his tank? That would help to control the smell some.
What do you feed the crickets prior to him eating them?
Getting a fecal exam is a good idea. Their stool shouldn't knock you out!
What other greens does he eat?
Thats all he really eats for greens. Mostly collard greens and dandelion. Ive been trying to find some others but I'm in a smaller town its hard enough finding some place that sells kale. I think ill grow a few varieties in the garden this summer.
I don't feed the crickets anything i buy 1 meals worth at a time and put them all in the tank at once. Cant stand keeping them in my house. The place i get them from always has an assortment of veggies in the cricket enclosure.
Ill try baths. Do want to figure out the cause of the smell though.
