So my dragon has started shedding recently, and his shed at the tip of his mouth has started to peel off, but the area under it looks a bit raw now, and the part right above the scale in his mouth has turned red.
I've been treating it with a diluted benzene iodine solution on a swab twice a day to avoid any infection, but I'm wondering if this is any cause for concern.
If he has rubbed his mouth while trying to shed, that is probably what's caused the problem.
You can try getting a raw, unpasteurized honey, or manuka honey, to help stave off any type
of infection. Keeping it clean with the diluted betadine is fine, as well. The honey has better
antibacterial/antimicrobial effects than just betadine alone will.
Does it seem to be bothering him?
Thanks, I will try some raw honey, thankfully I have some.
He is showing no obvious signs of pain or discomfort, a side from normal shedding.
Edit: Image of him.
Edit: I've noticed a small yellowish bump start forming in the middle of the scale, which I imagine is a blister?
