Charlie's head started shedding about 4 days ago. However, it seems like he is having a hard time shedding. Whenever i touch it, even if i'm just petting his head, he will twitch his head and scratch it, or close it eyes. Like it's hurting him almost. He had this one piece that was loose, and it finally came off. However, when i rub that area it still seems like it's raw because he will wince away from me or scratch at it. I've tried aloe and baths for the past couple of days and it doesn't seem to be helping much. He has never had trouble shedding before. Any advice?
i wouldn't worry, my beardie has just finished shedding her head and she did the same as yours- winced when i touched it- i don't think it hurt just it was uncomfortable for her. It took a while to come off but she got there in the end. From past shedding experiences she has always took longer shedding her head and face. Whilst in the bath, you can use a soft toothbrush to help remove the shedding skin
Thanks, i've been using the toothbrush thing for a while now, but he winces from that too. Since i posted this his a lot more shed has come loose which is good, i'll just keep an eye on it in case it gets worse!
