Hello all, I know I was never active here but I just thought it was right to make a post. Unfortunately as of 3 hours ago, my bearded dragon Supra passed away. Unfortunately he had an aneurysm in his mouth, I rushed him to an exotic vet about 3 weeks ago and they surgically closed the aneurysm.
He was on antibiotics and a liquid based diet from then on. I held onto hope as he was becoming more active and was running around. However his black beard never went away.
Today I took him to the vet for a Checkup on his condition and was told everything was great and the fecal tests came back completely fine. I was quite happy and took him home, placing him under his heat lamp to allow him to lounge. While I was packing my bags to attend a family funeral I noticed that he was in an extremely odd position with his body pressed up against the wall.
This next part explains what happened and might be a little graphic to some. Its ends after the next : *
When I went to check on him, he suddenly gasped for air. I picked him up to check his mouth and massage his throat incase something was stuck but the gasping persisted. I looked up many solutions and tried everything but I noticed he started to shut his eyes. I tried a last ditch effort of doing cpr for around 30 minutes.

Unfortunately Supra had passed away.
The first thing I did was look for an emergency vet but unfortunately the only open ones didn't accept exotic animals.
Supra lived a short but very fulfilled life. He went on many adventures with me and always ended the night by sleeping next to me in bed on his special pillow.
I wish it didnt happen but I'm glad it happened while I was still home. I was fortunate enough to be able to hold him in my arms and say my goodbyes.
Attached are many pictures of him as he grew up.
R.I.P Supra, my prince.
