Cori, my 11 month old beardie has recently gone on strike from eating crickets. I have been feeding him baby food in its place (chicken, turkey, beef). What else should I try to feed him? Also, how much will these other things cost and where do I get them?
He also eats salad with collards and such.
It's common for beardies to become tired of a certain food. As they get older, they generally stop eating as much protein - which should be encouraged. How big is he? If he is over 16", then you can offer him super worms. You can also offer him different worms like horn worms, silk worms, butter worms, phoenix worms, etc - these are all soft-bodied worms and are safe for beardies of all size, so long as they are appropriately sized. Roaches are a good option, too. All of which are easily attainable online.
I would avoid the baby food, as its going to spoil him! It's only meant for emergencies or for temporary use.
I only used the baby food until I can find something else to use. There is now way he can be more spoiled than he is now. Haha. Thanks for the advise tho. I believe the last time I measured him he was 14 inches.
