I had to change my superworm substrate today and I didnt have any bran so I used only the quaker 100% old fashioned oats and of course the veggies and apple slices on top. Can you take a look and tell me if this is ok? Is the level right? Theres about 15-20 lively superworms in there. They are about a month old. Kai wont get any till at least Monday. (The easter eggs are in the background, not in the keeper lol)

I've done the exact same successfully 👌 just be careful that the apples don't cause mold.

I've been saying that forever also lol. Got to feed them, give them water, clean up the poop......
And the lil ingrates aren't even cuddley lol.
The roach hotel..newly opened haha. In the darkness of my closet. With a tight ventilated lid of course

I use exactly this for superworms and dubias for the past 1.5 years (since I have Taco).
Works very well!

(Regarding what to not put in: We had one "horrible" situation with flour... I would not have put it in, but I was traveling, thus my husband taking care of everything. We had mealworms, superworms and dubias, and in our native language the name or "mealworms" is actually like "flour worms". He put flour in, and it clogs the trachea of the larvae, so almost all died and he said it stank horribly.)

I just have loose raw 100% old fashioned oats but I may have gone a little too deep with the layer (about 1 and a half inches or more!). They are moving around fine and look nice and juicy but I hope they can reach the veggies, carrot and apple I put off to the side on top of the oats.

a poem by AHBD (THANK YOU SO MUCH! I LOVE IT!)

Sir Henry the dragon
Looking for his dragon girl
Ventures out in to the wide world
His hopes are up but as you can see
There is no dragon girl for Sir Henry
A light bulb goes off and he takes mom aside
Could you perchance get me a mail order bride ?
