Just wondering if anyone is using the proto pod to harvest soldier fly larva? I think because its getting colder now that the soldier flies have moved on and I am loaded with blow fly larva.
Next question ,is/are blow fly larva toxic,or just unhealthy for dragons ? I'm having a hard time finding info on that and was just wondering if anyone on here might know.
Thanks and hope all your beardies are healthy

hmm, that's an interesting question... Dr. Phoenix would definitely be the person to talk to about this, hopefully he will see the post, I'm sure he'd have some advice
Blue bottle flies (the adults) seem to be really popular with chameleon keepers. They should be fine to feed to a beardie, though I know very little about them. http://grubco.com/Nutritional_Information.cfm is a chart showing them compared to some other feeders. They look pretty good on paper, and even have more calcium than most other feeders and a better Cahos ratio as well. Mulberry farms lists phoenix worms at 8155ppm Calcium which is still 10x more than the blow fly larvae. My uneducated guess is that you would be fine feeding them to your beardie, as long as you know how they were raised and kept. If you decide to feed them, then start out with small numbers and watch your beardies poop and urates to make sure he is digesting them properly.
Thanks for the advice , and the link . I'll check it out tonight and maybe try what you suggest.
Lol ya never know maybe the good Dr. will read this post soon ,I would love to hear from him as well.
