Pros and cons of having 2 beardies

Hi!!! We have an almost 6 month old female dragon that we adopted on 11/7. We are considering bringing another one home. They will have separate enclosures, in separate rooms. I know that we have the time, energy and resources to love them both, but don’t want to create a stressful environment for either!
I’d like to hear all others experiences! The good and the bad! Is this something that you all would or wouldn’t do again?
Here’s a photo of our girl Jhett, resting on my hand. The new baby is in my hand

I love the name Jhett!
I had an aunt named Jett. She was a little red headed firecracker!!!! I bet your girl can be too.
Anyway I've kept multiple beardies for a long time. I do not keep them in separate rooms. I do try to keep (adult) males so they don't have line of sight to anyone else. My females line of sight to each other don't seem to cause a lot of stress, with the exception of babies seeing adults.
My dragons are socialized and out together most evening (very supervised of course) I've even had a couple that would seek out the others to snuggle at bed time, especially each other.
I do not co-hab ever though. Even though beardies can seem to form a bond with each other fights can still break out. Fight can be devastating or fatal, they have a very strong bite.
So to answer your question keeping multiple beardies can be very rewarding. Stress can be minimized by carefully socializing them together. Do so with caution and patience. Don't try to socialize them until both have overcome relocation stress.
Also never give a male and female line of sight. That will stress both, especially the female.

Hello! I have two beardies so I thought I'd chime in :). To start I am relatively new to the world of beardies (not so much to reptiles as I've kept a few different species over the years) so this is just from my experience over the shorter time I've kept my two. I have a 5 - 6 month-old male named Karoo and a 3ish-month-old gender currently unknown named Marco. I keep both in the same room, just different enclosures, and have been slowly introducing them to each other. So far everything is going good. When I first introduced Karoo to Marco (through glass just to be safe) Karoo seemed a bit on edge about it but once he saw that the tiny baby who is probably a good 5 to 6 inches smaller than he is wasn't a threat (which was just after a few times of showing them each other through the glass for a few minutes) he calmed right down. Actually, he even came over to the glass and tried to lick/sniff Marco (who seemed he couldn't care less that Karoo was there one way or another) which I thought was pretty cute. After that, I've had both of them out for cuddles at the same time and they both seem to be very calm around each other (no signs of aggression or fear like stress spots, black bearding, arm waving, or anything like that) and no signs of stress or being upset in the least with being in the same room. I've loved having two so far and honestly may end up with a third down the line. It's really neat when you have two getting to see the personality differences :). Btw, both Jhett and the other beardie are little cuties ❤️ :)!

Thank you!!! Yes, all 3 of ours have had different quirks and personalities! I love it! We did bring our baby home and named her Jade! We have them in separate rooms. They’ve seen eachother briefly but we’re easing into it. Except at bedtime, they both cuddle up on me, one on each side! Zero issues, both fall right to sleep! It’s a little like heaven, having 2 beardies!!!

Omg how funny!!!! That’s actually really cool! Ours started as Jett, cause we were told boy. But fairly quickly found out she was a she. So we made her fancy and changed it to Jhett! And yes, she can be fiery!! Gives the side eye like no other!
We brought our baby home on Thursday. We have them in separate rooms but have let them see eachother! But at night they cuddle up, one on each side of my chest, and fall right to sleep. So far no issues!

They are adorable 😍
I cuddle with mine most every evening, they come to expect it lol.
Do be careful though, there is quite a bit of size difference in your guys. One quick bite from the bigger could be devastating or fatal to the smaller one.
They can actually become jealous and territorial of their humans. I had two girls that would try to push everyone else off of me.

Do you just rotate them? Like a schedule? I can hold the baby jade early and Jhett later?

Hey! I'm planning on ordering a 4x2x2 for my next beardie but I'm worried about lighting. I have a UVA and a UVB but they are small (the UVA just being a bulb and the UVB being 12 ish inches?) My house is drafty so I need a strong light that puts off quite a good amount of heat, any suggestions?
cookie event at my library today, quite fun! Made some bracelets for my comrades too, to give them at church in the morning. Got a busy day tomorrow even though I’m off work… i go back on tuesday so atleast I’ll have 2 days off to rewind….then back to hell lol
