So, I did a stupid thing. I upgraded Kai my little over a year old dragon, to a temporary tank which is horrible. It is a 75 gallon AQUARIUM which I didnt think about when I bought it! I am having a new tank custom made with the climbing background and all, wire cage heat lamp and UVB mounted inside, as soon as ot comes in to the exotic store owner from dubia.com (4×2×2) and he builds the background and mounts the lights for me. It will be ideal. Right now, though...I cant mount the uvb inside because a diagonal mount will make me unable to open the tank! It opens front and back instead of side to side, which I didnt realuze was going to be a problem! And if I mount it straight, it wouldnt be overlapping the basking spot! And if I use the preexisting heat lamp, even at 125 instead of 150 watts it will be too hot inside and not really safe. I know the screen blocks 30% of uvb rays but I dont know what I can do to mount it inside until the new tank comes! I am not handy and I am stressing...I thought of cutting the screen with tin snips just the length and width of the uvb bulb itself, but idk if that will compromise the durability of the screen with the heat lamp sitting on it right nearby. Thoughts? Suggestions? Nothing too mechanical or involving power tools please, I am NOT handy, hence why Im having the new tank made FOR me. Here is my dilemma: (see pic)
