Prickly pear!

Got my prickly pear in the mail and tried it with Kai. He licked it and then went to his veggie dish so idk if he ate any or if he just thought it was a hornworm and was bitterly disappointed. But some greens are usually gone and the rest he throws around all over. Man he is living his best life in the new tank! I find him all over, every part of it. Sometimes he blends into the scenery and takes a little while to spot lol. Had to fix the wire bexause he tried to climb that too i yi!

I'm glad to see that Kai enjoys his new enclosure as much as Taco enjoys his very similar one. And the blending in, yes, I also have to look for him quite often a while until I spot him.

Was it prickly pear fruit or plant?
Both are edible. My dragon likes prickly pear fruit (which I feed sparingly, but regarding sugar content in fruit vs. vegetables, also carrots and bell peppers have a rather high sugar content - so I generally keep it with "often/daily what are green leaves, sometimes what grows biologically as the fruit of a plant but we humans use them for rather savory dishes (such as bell pepper), and really sparingly those fruits which we humans might consider for desserts and such and in my native language fall into the category of "Obst" like apples, berries, prickly pear fruit and similar).

Just the fruit. Im horrible with plants. Kai just dug up another plant. I saw him staring at it, thought he was going to nibble it but no. Oops I didnt know the prickly pear was a fruit and I gave him a lot! Like half a pad, cut up! But he didnt eat much if any.

The prickly pear is growing as the fruit of the prickly pear cactus.
But as you mention "pad", you likely had parts of the plant?
So if it was flat, it was a pad, a part of the plant. If it was three-dimensional round, it was the fruit.
Both is eaten by humans, the fruit as "tuna" and the pad as "nopales" in the Spanish-speaking world.

It grows like this, the things that are red here are the fruits, but they can also be green. The shape tells the difference.

They are pads. Green pads. I got them online, nice and juicy but definitely flat pads.

Ugh he totally uprooted that second plant! Shouldve named him Godzilla!
Kai, Kai, such a destructive guy
In a fancy new home
He'll give it a try
To uproot those plants
And throw dirt in your eye
Beardie is like a mini -bulldozer
Rearranging his crib
He'll toss it all over
And yes, he will do it with glee
Much to the chagrin of his mom Sue E.

a poem by AHBD (THANK YOU SO MUCH! I LOVE IT!)

Sir Henry the dragon
Looking for his dragon girl
Ventures out in to the wide world
His hopes are up but as you can see
There is no dragon girl for Sir Henry
A light bulb goes off and he takes mom aside
Could you perchance get me a mail order bride ?
