So on Friday I will be getting a baby bearded dragon that's about a month and a half old, but it has a really bad kink in the tail, like it almost makes a 90° angle. Is there anyway to straighten it out? Or maybe it'll just grow out of it?
Is this baby coming from a breeder? If so, the breeder should tell you what had happened to this baby's tail, whether it was from an injury or was born that way. Either case, I highly doubt you can 'fix it', unless an x-ray can reveal if it was a break and they'd be able to reset it.
If you're getting him/her from a pet store, be sure to inspect him/her for any other possible injuries or joint disfigurements. You may want to reconsider, unless you will be able to care for what may come in his/her later years.
If the tail's the only issue, I am certain that s/he will be just fine.
She's coming from a breeder, and the breeder said the egg had bad placement. I have no issues with the kink at all, it's a very cute baby and the kink doesn't cause any problems, I just wanted to see if I could straighten out the tail.
So the baby was born with the bend in the tail? Then there's no way for you to be able to correct it.
You will have to keep an eye on the bend as s/he grows up, to ensure that it won't prevent her/him from being able to properly balance on anything other than a flat surface.
